Is there anything more relaxing and calming than an easy sunday morning? I love how quiet it is in these early hours so I can start my day slowly and do what needs to be done to have the rest of the day off. That is the only time when I enjoy getting up early, because my boyfriend is still in bed, the dog is sleeping as well, and nobody except for the birds outside is awake. I love it.
The first thing I do when I get up early on weekends is, of course, making coffee. Otherwise I would be way to sleepy and just lay on the couch for hours what makes getting up early pointless. While coffee is in the making I put on some comfy clothes and plush socks, and wash my face and stuff, I mean, I don’t need to tell you what you do in the bathroom, right? Then I drink my first coffee while I either check my phone for messages and mails or watch Youtube videos. After that I am slowly preparing everything around me so I do not have to get up from the table for at least the next hour. I like to write in the mornings so I get my laptop, my notebook and the coffeepot on my table, start a episode of Game of Thrones (which I watch way too often). And now starts the fun stuff. Breakfast. But not any breakfast. This is my absolute favourite breakfast!
All you need is:
– 1 ripe avocado
– 1 tomato
– 1 red bell pepper
– juice of 1 lime
– salt and pepper to taste
– balsamico creme
Slice it all up, put it on your toasted bread and enjoy this deliciousness! There was a time I didn’t like avocados but now I can’t remember what exactly was wrong with me back then because I eat 1-3 avocados a day. You can of course use whatever bread you prefer, I usually use way darker bread but this morning I had to realize that I would have to go grocery shopping first so I went with the toast. You can top these with anything of course but this, ladies and gentlemen, is so delicious that it quickly became my go to breakfast on any weekends and every day off of work.
When I have it all set up I just enjoy the moment, the food, my favourite series and my coffee. This is what I need. This is what I crave. Me-time.
I look at my notebook where I have all my tasks for the day, and collect ideas for my blog, my Instagram and general topics regarding our house and stuff. When I’m done eating this is what I do. I write. Nobody disturbs me while I just sit here, look through my window and let my mind flow and write. And only when I find it hard to get anything else on the paper, I get up and start tackling other tasks.
After that relaxed morning routine the day really begins but that is okay for me. Because I had the chance to sit down and be by myself for two hours before I get shit done around the house. Since we own a dog I usually go for a walk with him before I start cleaning. The days are getting longer and it slowly warms up around here so I enjoy it even more to spend that time with my little buddy. He gets his food when we are back and I take one last coffee before I get going and clean the house. I always try to have everything done by 3pm so I have the rest of the day off and can spend some time with my boyfriend and dog, or take a long bath or something like that to end my weekend on a nice relaxed note so I can conquer the upcoming week. And this is the routine I do on every weekend of day off, except when I have to be somewhere else early. Routines make my life just way easier.
You should always take etime for yourself, to make you happy, relaxed and motivated. It is so important for your well being! Find out when the best time is to do so and find out what you reallly enjoy doing for yourself, what you crave, what your body and mind need! Life is way more easy to handle when you have that inner peace, and I know how hard it can be sometimes to find that. Your Me-Time will make it easier to find it because you just concentrate on youself without rushing from one task to another. Take your time my loves. Enjoy your time. And find what your mind and body crave.
